2011 - Walkabout
Ladies and Gentlemen, Thank you all so much for your time, talents and hard work in making Walkabout 2011 a successful event. We are meeting soon to go over evaluations and to review the weekend. We greatly appreciate all that you do for us. Please give us your feedback on how things went and any suggestions for how to improve things. I will assume you have all sent your receipts and requests for reimbursement to Laura. We hope to see you next year (possibly May Flather). I haven't seen the evaluations yet but from overheard conversations, I think everything was a hit (especially Asian Experience and Gourmet Camp Cooking). Thanks again from the Walkabout committee.

2011 - Recognition Ceremony

The Recognition Ceremony was a tremendous success, thanks to all of the volunteers and the honorees.  Bonnie Boltz was an awesome speaker.  Tan Holsclaw did a marvelous job as our Master of Ceremonies.  At the Ceremony, we recognized 16 girls who earned the Silver Trefoil, 39 girls who earned the Silver Award, 11 girls who earned the Gold Award, and 17 graduating seniors.  It was great to be able to honor the amazing accomplishments of these extraordinary young women.  If you were unable to attend, or will be earning one of these awards in the coming year, please make plans now to attend the 2010 Recognition Ceremony.  We would love to recognize every girl in Prince William County and Fauquier who earn these awards.

We would like to thank the girls from Junior Troop 549 for doing the opening for the Ceremony.  We hope to be recognizing them in later years.  We also want to thank Troops 1841, 3297, and 6224 for doing a great job manning the registration tables, ushering the attendees, and helping with the decorations.  We also need to thank Troop 4413 for the awesome reception.  Lastly, we want to thank Amanda and Kristin Humphreys for coordinating the invitations and RSVPs; Charleen Wagner-Whalen for assembling the corsages and parent pennies; Jeff and Susan Holman for assembling the memory books; Runia Brokamp, Sasha Lord, and Diana Pethtel for presenting the memory books; and Elaine Patnode, Barb Fraze, Laura Buckenmeyer, and Christine Munyasia-Onyango for announcing the honorees.

The Prince William County Sheriff's Honor Guard did a fantastic job.  We really appreciate Deputy Kephart for her kind and inspiring words.

A big thank you to all of the troop advisors and parents for their support of POGO and of these magnificent young women.
